For the past twelve months, Luke has been the Chair of the Young Democrats of Wisconsin. Prior to 2016, Wisconsin was one of five states without a Young Democrats presence. Today, there are over 300 Young Dems all across the Badger State, nearly half of whom were brand new to our party.
Luke is currently running for the open spot on the Democratic National Committee. With Jason Rae’s election as DNC Secretary, that opens up one of the male spots on the DNC. The election on Saturday, June 3 will be to fill the remainder of his term which runs through the middle of 2020.
Luke’s priorities for the DNC are simple. They’re the “Three C’s” – Communication, Collaboration and County Parties.
1. Communication – Luke commits to always keeping Wisconsin Democrats up to date on when the DNC will be meeting, what will be covered, and the outcome of any discussion. Even more importantly, Luke commits to keeping the DNC up to date on what’s top of mind with Wisconsin Democrats.
2. Collaboration – Luke commits to working with Indivisible groups, Our Wisconsin Revolution, and other grassroots organizations because we’re all part of the same progressive family.
3. County Parties – Luke commits to getting the DNC to invest more in growing county parties, including the creation of a Rural County Chairs Association which will share best practices and serve as a direct line between county party chairs in rural areas across America and the DNC.
