This election season is in full swing! What a busy parade schedule since our last newsletter on June 13th. We have marched in the Rodeo Days parade, Butterfest parade, numerous 4th of July parades and other celebrations in New Lisbon, Wonewoc and Mineral Point. The Kriss Marion campaign is really getting their steps in! Every little village and town is giving a warm reception to Democrats. We are giving the people hope! We have such amazing candidates in Art Shrader, Jeff Wright, Mike Mooney and Kriss Marion. We must continue to press on. We need the blue tsunami this November.
The events keep coming and our need for volunteers is never-ending. We don’t want to overwhelm you with requests and invites but we do hope you can find events that interest you and cause you to step up. What is your motivation? What is calling you to action? There is so much going on in our nation-everyday there is good reason to get involved. Consider how you can do your small part.
If writing and research is your thing-consider contacting Bev Pestel and the Oxford Comma Society group! Bev is leading a great group of volunteers in writing letters to the editor. This valuable activity gets our candidates and their views on the issues in the paper. They are meeting regularly and looking to add more volunteers. She will be posting upcoming meetings in the Coordinated Campaign Alliance private group. Contact her if you want to be on her email list. Her email is firstname.lastname@example.org
Our last Pub Trivia event went very well in Lime Ridge at the Branding Iron Roadhouse & Grill. We had over 35 participants and the candidates were warmly received, making connections with many new faces and receiving some great support. We had a great time and are planning another event for August 7th @7pm. Put the date on your calendar-we will have the event invite posted soon with the location. We are finalizing the plans at this time.
We have another parade coming up on Sunday, June 22 in Cazenovia, WI. The Caz Celebration event is that whole weekend. We are looking for parade walkers for the Shrader Team and Marion Campaign. Sign up for the event in the Coordinated Campaign Alliance group event post and RC Dems page.
We are having an Afternoon of Action in Richland Center, July 24th from 5pm to 7pm. We need people willing to spread the news of Art Shrader, candidate for 50th Assembly in the city of Richland Center. We will be also sharing Ron Kind and Tammy Baldwin literature. We will provide literature and yard signs. Ability to walk for 2 hours or be a driver.
There will be pizza and drinks at the Phoenix Center after the event for all participants. Pizza will be provided, drinks on your own. Please sign up by going to our SignUp Genius link: SignUp Genius will remind you 2 days before the event as well.
We have a great social event coming up for those that love the great outdoors! “Yakkin’ with the Candidates” Friday, July 27th from 5:30 PM – 9:30 PM. A fun outing with Kriss Marion and Art Shrader that will also support Passages! We’ll start on County Highway AA near Bowen’s Mill and make a stop at Krouskop Park for food and conversation, then finish by “yakkin’ ” to the old community center site. The other cool thing about this evening kayak ride-it’s a full moon that evening! If you have ever wanted to kayak in the moonlight, this is the opportunity for you. This is the same evening as the Passages on the Pine event which benefits our local women’s shelter. Kayaks are $25 and Mark is generously donating proceeds to Passages. Come on out, talk with Kriss and Art, and help a great cause by kayaking and eating…what could be more fun??? Here is the link to the event post:
The RC Dems are looking for volunteers to staff the Democrats office. The office provides valuable resources to the community and staffing the office helps provide yard signs and literature. We have a SignUp Genius that lists the dates available. There are simple tasks that can be done while you are there or you can bring your own work and be available to visitors. Pat O’Boyle is the lead contact for Office Staffing-you can contact her via email: email@example.com if you have any questions. If the times don’t work perfectly in your schedule but you would like to volunteer-the times can be altered with Pat. Here is the link to the SignUp Genius:
We are planning some other events-we would like you to mark your calendar for August 13th and 14th-as we are hoping to do some “Get out the vote” GOTV events for the governor primary. We will need additional staffing for the RC Dems office as well. We do have some yard signs of some of the governor candidates available at the RC Dems office-be sure to stop by during office hours to pick them up. Encourage your friends and Family to vote in the primary.
We are working on a wiffle ball event between the Jeff Wright campaign and Art Shrader campaign at Jaxon Louis’ wiffle ball park in Ithaca. Details to follow soon. We are still looking at a sign painting event-we have a location but looking for dates/times. There are many things to sign up for. Follow the calendar on the RC-Dems page for our local events, here is the link:
